Meet Mama Gilly…again.

My name is Gillian Sowers. Better known to most, as Mama Gilly. A few years ago, when I initially started this blog, I was married to my best friend…living life on a small plot of land in rural Illinois. My life revolved around my family, my career as an ER nurse, and my little farm. So much has changed since then…Covid 19 hit and showed me just how short life is, completely changing my universe…and as a result, the path that I am on. I have made some horrible mistakes, loved and lost, I have been both the villain and the heroine of my story.

So welcome to the NEW Mama Gilly’s Place. Grab a drink, sit a spell, and join me as I embark on this new journey, as a single woman in her early 50’s…still a mother, grandmother, ER nurse, daughter, sister, friend…..and Mama to all. Sometimes I have victories….sometimes I fall flat on my face, usually with my foot in my mouth. But I am always real, raw, and authentic. The good, the bad, the ugly…. and as always, praying that in sharing my struggles, my journey, I can help someone else along the way
